No idea what you have installed to get it working. If you look at the package listing System.Net assembly is very much missing. Perhaps you have this installed in some other way.

This is what I've got around.

local/gluezilla 2.6-2
local/mono 2.8.1-1
local/mono-addins 0.5-1
local/mono-debugger 2.8.1-1
local/mono-tools 2.8-1
local/monodevelop 2.4.1-1

I will try installing some of the others and see if anything remidies this for me.

Did not try to compile the exact snippet of code, but something much like it.

System.Net is not an assembly, it's just a namespace included into System.dll, so won't find an assembly in the package.
EDIT: This comment is for your comment you posted before your last comment.

Cools. Still not working though. No System.Net namespace popping up in the nice lil' monodevelop selector box there. I figured it might be a missing assembly because of the error I am given.

Have you created a project in monodevelop or just a .cs file?
Meanwhile I have tested it at another Arch Linux installation. Works without any problems there.
There must be something wrong at you configuration, maybe some issue at monodevelop? Have you tried to compile it on shelL?
