After updating the day before yesterday, audacious can not run any more.

I had reinstalled it twice, but it still didn't work. So, i tried to compile it from aur, but nothing happened :(

(ps:I also installed audacious and audacious-plugins, and i had removed all config files)

it just told me: ALL OUTPUT PLUGINS FAILED TO INITIALIZE.

Did you do "sudo pacman -Syu" recently? What is your architecture?
Does it work if you install all optional dependencies of audacious-plugins?
Could you also try building from the ABS tree (it's not an AUR package)?
Comment by ming chyi (delectate) - Friday, 17 December 2010, 14:17 GMT
@Gaetan Bisson, yes,i did "sudo pacman -Syu" 15th, and it never work after that.
my os's architecture is i686 (Linux delectate 2.6.36-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Dec 10 20:01:53 UTC 2010 i686 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P7350 @ 2.00GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux)
i tried to build from abs, but still can not run, told me:
delectate@delectate:~$ audacious
ALL OUTPUT PLUGINS FAILED TO INITIALIZE.

maybe some dependency's question?

btw: apologize for my poor english

Yes, maybe it's the dependencies: can you try to install *all* dependencies of audacious-plugins to see if it solves the problem?
Also, if you can reproduce this issue on another computer, that would be helpful (since audacious works fine on mine).

Do you run Pulse-Audio? What desktop is it? Audacious works fine for me with alsa on Xfce.

@Gaetan Bisson, i re-compile it from ABS, then it can start, strange. I install it from extra, doesn't work.
I tried compile it on ubuntu10.04, but some dependencies error, cannot compile complete.

@Andreas Radke, still alsa :) i tried pulse-audio before, but i need compile mplayer/audacious-plugin/vlc, it is a hardwork to newbie like me. I'm running on Gnome2.32.

If it works for you from abs I assume a corrupted download that pacman should refuse to install. Please clean the pkg from the /var/cache/pacman/pkg chache and use another mirror to download it again.
