Chrome, since version 8, warns on downloading a pdf. The warning is: "This type of file can harm your computer. Are you sure..." and you have to click a tiny "save" button every single time. I doubt the utility of this warning, and I find it irksome. Fortunately, a simple edit is enough to disable it.
