DetailsDescription:
I cannot scan with xsane. The scanner is found, but scanning fails. Error message: "sane_start: Invalid argument" On the command line, scanimage -L will display my Epson scanner, similar to "`epson2:libusb:001:003` is an Epson scanner". If I use the command scanimage > file.pnm or scanimage -d epson2:libusb:001:003 > file.pnm I get the same error message as in XSane. If, on the other hand, I use the less verbose scanimage -d epson > file.pnm i get an image (I can set the size, resolution etc as well with the corresponding options). I suspect this is a configuration- or version incompatibility problem -- that's why I post here rather that at the Sane project. The scanner is a CX-3200 printer/scanner unit. sane is version 1.0.21-3, xsane is 0.998-1. I cleared my ~/.sane configuration, but that didn't help either. regards Jakob. |

Please use the other backend, epson offers 2 kinds of backend, just try the other one and it will work.
