Would it be possible to add "--with-systemdsystemunitdir=/lib/systemd/system" for the next release of dbus?

This was already done for udev, and the reasoning is largely the same ( FS#21506 ).

Pro: No need for users to install dbus-systemd (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=40399) to test out systemd. In fact, with this change, systemd can be used without replacing any Arch packages (it used to be that one needed custom kernel, udev and dbus packages).

Con: None. In particular, the only difference to the package after adding this flag, is that a couple of files are added to the directory "/lib/systemd/system", if systemd is not installed this obviously does not matter.

I'm currently booting my system both with sysvinit and with systemd after manually applying this change, and both work perfectly.

imo adding systemd to udev was a mistake. why supporting it when is not in repos?

@Ionut:
There are no downsides to doing it. A few extra files are installed, that's all.

The benefit is that it will allow much easier widespread testing of systemd.

If at some point we want to add systemd to the repos having widespread testing to find any problems is of course a prerequisite.

If this feature request is implemented I'll start a call for testing to see if systemd could be a benefit to Arch.
