DetailsI was really pleased to see that wdm was available in Arch, but want to highlight a possible error.
I'm not currently logged onto an Arch box, but I think a dependency problem may exist with the wdm package. wdm is a lightweight display manager, a bit like slim or gdm (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=10898). It is listed as having windowmaker as a dependency. When I check the two GNU/Linux boxes that I am logged onto at the moment, neither of them think that wdm requires windowmaker to run; I suspect this will be the same in Arch. Could I ask that someone try to verify this on an Arch box, as I think that it would give many more people the option to run a different display manager, without pulling-in another dependency. Hope this helps. Chris. |
