DetailsAfter upgrading to KDE 4.5.80, Dolphin has issues if HAL is disabled:
1)It takes some time to launch (there seems to be a noticeable lag) 2)There are these errors in konsole (if dolphin is launched from there): flamelab@prometheus ~ $ QStringList Solid::Backends::Hal::HalManager::findDeviceByDeviceInterface(Solid::DeviceInterface::Type) error: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown" QStringList Solid::Backends::Hal::HalManager::findDeviceByDeviceInterface(Solid::DeviceInterface::Type) error: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown" QStringList Solid::Backends::Hal::HalManager::findDeviceByDeviceInterface(Solid::DeviceInterface::Type) error: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown" QStringList Solid::Backends::Hal::HalManager::findDeviceByDeviceInterface(Solid::DeviceInterface::Type) error: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown" Dbus is running. |

what is your login method?
Only Dolphin has *this* weird lag. Even resizing the device's panel has lag. In KDE 4.5.x, there aren't these particular problems.
This is not a packaging bug.
Anyway, I added a note to the KDE 4.6 topic
