Description:

Configuration in /etc/conf.d/lircd.conf:
LIRC_DEVICE='name="*HVR 1110*"'
LIRC_DRIVER="devinput"
LIRC_EXTRAOPTS=""
LIRC_CONFIGFILE="/etc/lirc/lircd.conf"

Notice the "named" format of LIRC_DEVICE. However, the /etc/rc.d/lircd script will not start the daemon correctly due to bash quoting the parameters. The solution is to prepend eval:

eval /usr/sbin/lircd -d "$LIRC_DEVICE" $LIRC_EXTRAOPTS $LIRC_CONFIGFILE

It took a bit of research why the daemon runs fine from command line but ignores IR commands when started from the startup script :-)

Thanks a lot for fixing the script.
