they just need to be updated.

Also the PKGBUILDs should not be specifying specific versions for the lines

source=(http://umn.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/gift/gift-openft-0.2.1.1.tar.bz2)
same with the "cd $startdir/src/giFT-FastTrack-0.8.4"

it should use $pkgver so that all that is necessary to update the package is to change the pkgver variable.
