gdal 1.7.3-1 has cfitsio as a makedpend but it's in fact a real dependancy. Additional info: * Package version: 1.7.3-1 Steps to reproduce: * Install gdal * Make sure cfitsio is not installed * Try to run 'import gdal' in a python2 shell, see the error message about a missing libcfitsio.so |

Gdal-based applications (like merkaartor and qlandkarte) are also not run without cfitsio.
