I think we should add a default /etc/gai.conf file in base arch system. I don't know if it's better place in filesystem package or in glibc package. This file is used by glibc to choose the better resolving answer of a dns name. This is really useful if you setup a functional ipv6 service on your host and you want the default resolving done in ipv4. This give the power to have an ipv6 ready host on ipv6 local network without resolve all host in ipv6 and so, use a poor tunnel or limited internet provider ipv6 bandwidth. I give you a default, all commented, gai.conf file for example to include. Regards, |
