DetailsDescription:
lucene is a high-performance, full-featured text search engine library written entirely in Java. The [extra] repo includes version 2.9.3-1 while latest is 3.0.2 as indicated at their website (http://lucene.apache.org/) It seems the project is split into two branches the 2.x and 3.x, cause of compatibility issues. Users are recommended to use 3.x branch, but no such package exists in extra repo (nor any other repo, including aur) What I'm asking is to create another package for lucene 3.0.2, leaving lucene 2.9.3-1 in place for those who need it. Steps to reproduce: pacman -Ss lucene Thanks |

You can always use AUR to upload a lucene2 package

OpenOffice is our only package using lucene. And it's not compatible with lucene3. So we stay with lucene2 until it's fixed upstream. Feel free to bump it yourself or add an additional pkg lucene3 not conflicting the other.
