The redis package needs a little more love ;) You can take a look at the redis-git package I updated: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=35975 The most important ones are the need for a backup array in the PKGBUILD for the configuration files and the installation of some tools which redis provides that are missing in the community package (redis-check-*). Please install the redis.conf in /etc/conf.d like every other daemon. I also added a logrotate file because, at least, the current git version spams the log a lot. upgrade/removal. It is in the aur package.
