Detailscairo 1.10 now has an OpenGl backend. Please enable it using ./configure --enable-gl [...]. Thanks.

Sorry, but I won't enable backends that are not enabled by default. We took that route with xcb before, not going to do that again. If the GL backend was ready, upstream would have set it to autodetect or enabled by default.
