KISS : Keep It Simple, Stupid.

Why don't you build maxima with common lisp as any sane person would do in order to make it working for people using wxmaxima ?

Simple : add clisp as a dependency for maxima and make the build depend on clisp as default.

I don't see why you want to have a memory optimization or so such thing with sbcl, it's not your job as a packager. You don't follow the arch philosophy. You can do better.

Please use the AURĀ for your optimization stuff, it doesn't concern a huge proportion of users.

Works fine here. Clean install of wxmaxima:
sbcl-1.0.43-1 maxima-5.21.1-4 wxmaxima-0.8.6-1.

I can't reproduce your problem, and neither can I reproduce all those other bugs you opened for maxima.
