I've been using deltas with pacman on a daily basis since the support appeared.

During the download, my processor isn't occupated at all : pacman is only downloading.
But then, it takes approximately the same time with the processor occupated at 100% and no internet debit.

The idea is to start calculating deltas as soon they are downloaded, one by one.
Moreover, on multicore systems, this could use more than one at a time. (currenty, deltas aren't calculated in parallel, so they use only one core)

We don't need the output to know if the delta calculations went well, like the packages are verified after downloading and delta-izing.
I don't see any drawbacks to this and this can only be beneficial, don't you think so ? Of course, it's not urgent at all.

Illustration as attached file.

Arch is wonderful, keep up the good work ! :)
