Reason for closing:  Not a bug
Additional comments about closing:  Yes, these packages contain the same utilities. Just wait before the complete transition is done, there's nothing that forces you to install the standalone utilities yet.

This occurs with a couple more packages, xorg-xfd, xorg-xlsatoms, xorg-xlsclients, xorg-xvinfo, all conflict with xorg-utils.

Try a full upgrade with pacman -Syu. xorg-utils has been splitted in all those packages, now it's an empty pkg which depends on all those you listed. Using -Syu should just install all of them.

EDIT: I thought it was still working, but I was wrong. I guess it's still a work in progress. More info here http://mailman.archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-dev-public/2010-October/018235.html

I always update with -Syu. The current package on ftp.archlinux.org (as of 22.50 GMT+2: ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/extra/os/x86_64/xorg-utils-7.6-5-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz) does contain those files.

EDIT: Oops! Not quick enough. Sorry. :(
