Description:

I recently moved away from KDEmod on Arch64 and stock KDE on Arch64. Everything is running smoothly but few things/features are missing fro me. In KDEmod I previews on my folders which consisted on video files. In KDE that feature doesn't seem to be present. I get previews on folders when the folder contains jpegs, pngs etc. just fine.

My next feature request is regarding the plasmoid that lets you preview your folders. On KDEmod I could also preview folders within the folder the plasma was set to without having to go into Dolphin etc. The button for that is missing in KDE on Arch64.

I have the latest version installed of kdemultimedia-mplayerthumbs and the option is on and my videos do generate thumbnails. It is just that they are not displayed on the folder where they are in and on KDEmod they were.

If I remember well the cache size is set to 0MB, did you increased that value?

can you try kdemultimedia-ffmpegthumbs?

I've tried both already (kdemultimedia-ffmpegthumbs and kdemultimedia-mplayerthumbs) and the outcome is the same. I tried again making a new user and setting Dolphin up and I still can't get the previews on the folders from videos. I also tried kffmpegthumbs from AUR and still no change.

Switched to Air now and it works.

What could I have configured wrong. My configuration of Dolphin is identical as under KDEmod and there the folder video previews worked like a charm? Is there maybe a way to debug this at least just for me to figure out where it problem occur?
