DetailsWhen using glibc-2.12, the following program prints "0" (i.e. successful iconv_open) when compiled with dynamic linking, but "1" (i.e. unsuccessful iconv_open) when compiled with static linking:

What exact glibc do you have? 2.12 left the repos ages ago... We now have 2.12.1-2.

Tested glibc git and it is still an issue but it works in FC14. Now to figure out if it is glibc or gcc (or other) at fault..

Hmm... binutils-2.20.51.0.12 and gcc-4.5.1-20101021 do not help either. Must be something in FC patchset...

glibc issue... a fully patched glibc from FC14 works.
