Empathy can't connect to MSN after python update. However if I were logged in from Pidgin, it says that I logged in elsewhere. But Empathy always says "Connecting..." and never finish that; MSN partners never show on partner list. I tried rebuild Empathy, but it didn't help.

Additional info:

telepathy-butterfly 0.5.14-4
papyon 0.5.1-2

I fully up-to-date, and use the current python-telepathy 0.15.18-2.

I think it might be related to MSN network changes as discussed here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/papyon/+bug/663670

The fix is on the package papyon which is used by telepathy-butterfly and can be summarized by:
diff --git a/papyon/service/description/SingleSignOn/RequestMultipleSecurityTokens.py b/papyon/service/description/SingleSignOn/RequestMultipleSecurityTokens.py

If I add wrong ID, I've got "Authentication failed", but if I add correct ID, it stays "Connecting..." forever.

interesting. i tried it on 19 oct and that's why was working for me at that time.

this is not python related at all.

This patch solved my problem, so please apply it on papyon package.

i'm waiting at least for an official statement on papyon bugtracker. I usually don't trust ubuntu patches and patches that i don't understand
