Description: Conky freeze unexpectedly after 10-30min
started (in autostart or not). So, doing nothing (only
login) or nothing special in the system.
"killall conky" take 15-30min to be effective. Additional info: Arch Linux x86_64 - Kernel 2.6.35.7 Conky 1.8.1-1 Gnome 2.32 xorg-server 1.9.0.901-1 Attached my conkyrc and the script in use with this. |
This task depends upon
.conkyrc
Anyhow, it seems dyndns.org stops replying to queries after a few minutes (naturally, they want to prevent DDOS; hence the wget in your script hangs); could you confirm that, by removing the "PUBLIC IP" line from conkyrc and check that everything works fine?
In conky 1.8.0 these scripts worked property.
#attached the new script.
Test case: start conky; when it hangs, run the script ip.sh manually - if it hangs too, then *it* is the problem.
I'll close this bug for now, but if you have additional evidence showing conky (and not your script) is at fault, please ask for a reopen.
