Description:

I use ArchLinux x86_64 Kernel 2.6.35.7-1 under Hyper-V.
It uses hv_netvsc module to up ethernet.
I download some files through ProFTP server from this virtual machine to other local PC.
All was fine during 5-10 minutes.
After that time my ethernet had stoped to transfer packages but still can accept packages. Ethernet was up.
To resolve this problem I used the following commands:
shell# ifconfig eth0 down
shell# ifconfig eth0 up
After that my ethernat could transfer packages some abount 1 minute and this problem arose again.
I got nothing messages in kernel.log, errors.log, everething.log about this problem.
This task depends upon

Do you get an IP via dhcp?

> ... but still can accept packages
How do you know that?

I ran command:
shell# watch -n 1 ifconfig eth0
and there I saw like RX increased and TX kept the same.
Or I ran tcpdump -i eth0 and I saw incoming packages.

I have static IP on virtual ethernet.

I tried to run ping command from VM and saw ifconfig TX packets count didn't increase.

That was happened when I transfer large traffic 200-300 Mbit/s from ArchLinux VM to some PC.
In case of inversely (from some PC to ArchLinux VM) there was not this problem.
However this VM worked many days when traffic was not so large.

do you reported this to upstream? Also should take care that this driver is in "staging", not ready for production.

No, I did not report this to upstream.

Are these modules built from MS Linux Integration Services v.2.1 sources?

I tried to repeat this situation on kernel26-lts v.2.6.32.24-1 and this problem had not arisen.
I successfully have downloaded 100 GByte data.
But there is no module hv_utils in kernel26-lts to support ACPI poweroff signal.

Ok, I will send.

I have installed kernel-2.6.35-8 from ArchLinux repository and I made tests.
I have transfered 20 GByte video files via ProFtpd server and problem with ethernet stopping has not been.
So, this bug is fixed.

Today, one ethernet has stopped to transfer packets.
It works about 2 hour with constantly traffic in 200-400 Kbyte/s
So, this bug will not be closed.
