Reason for closing:  Upstream
Additional comments about closing:  Probably an incompatibility due to mixing deprecated packages.

I'm a bit puzzled. For example, choosing the 'minimal' document class triggers a stack overflow, and enabling fontspec (which depends on xunicode) instead of xunicode makes the error disappear.

Hmmm, moving \usepackage{xltxtra} above \usepackage{xunicode} works too! So I guess this is fine for my needs, though I'd be interested to know whether this is expected behavior, and why it worked with TeXLive 2009.

Rémy, are the TeXLive 2010 packages in the repos a "final" release, or sort of like development snapshots?

They are supposed to be final, I'm waiting for Will Robertson to update fontspec because of serious bugfixes and I'll do a last update of texlive-core, there are also symlinks to move and minor changes to make.

A fontspec update would be very welcome; it would solve this issue: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=106512.

Regarding this bug, do you think it should be brought to upstream's attention?

The use of xltxtra seems to be deprecated (see xltxtra README file on github): do you explicitly need it ?
Comment by Evangelos Foutras (foutrelis) - Wednesday, 20 October 2010, 15:26 GMT
Removing xltxtra (and using only xunicode) produces an "Undefined control sequence" error on a document in which I use the \setmainfont command. However, it appears that I can replace the xltxtra/xunicode combo with fontspec and it'll work just fine. :)

So, I'll start using fontspec from now on; feel free to close this bug. :)
