DetailsDescription:
After updating from texlive-bin 2009.5-5 to 2010.1-2, attempting to execute epstopdf from the command line results in command not found. However, the perl script /usr/share/texmf-dist/scripts/epstopdf/epstopdf.pl is still present so it looks as if just the symbolic link: /usr/bin/epstopdf -> /usr/share/texmf-dist/scripts/epstopdf/epstopdf.pl is missing. Additional info: * package version(s) * config and/or log files etc. Steps to reproduce: install texlive-bin 2010.1-2 type "epstopdf" at the command line |

For some reason, this link is installed by texlive-pictures. Note that eps files are now converted on the fly, when included in a file processed by pdflatex, xelatex or lualatex. I'll have a look at it.

What is needed for the convertion on the fly? With texlive-bin 2010.1-4 I can't use includegraphics with a eps file and pdflatex.

I think conversion is done on the fly provided epstopdf is available, I'll think about moving the symlink back to texlive-core, since the graphics package is there.

That symlink would be nice to have in texlive-core...
