Details

Trying to start mozilla-thunderbird gives me this output:
[oscar@pirate ~]$ mozilla-thunderbird
/opt/mozilla-thunderbird/lib/thunderbird-1.0/run-mozilla.sh: line 159: 12239 Segmentation fault "$prog" ${1+"$@"}

This is a vanilla thunderbird without any extensions or themes (or anything).

You're using an outdated and unofficial version, current thunderbird is located in /opt/mozilla/lib/thunderbird-1.0, not in /opt/mozilla-thunderbird. Version 1.0 has never been packaged with that prefix, so this is not an archlinux bug.
