DetailsDescription: The extra/dovecot package lists
* libmysqlclient * postgresql-libs as optional dependencies. They are, however, required because /usr/lib/dovecot/auth is linked against * libmysqlclient.so.16 * libpq.so.5 which are contained in the above packages. Without those libraries /usr/lib/dovecot/auth does not run. Thus, these "optional" dependencies should in fact be listed as dependencies. Additional info: * package version: 2.0.5-1 Steps to reproduce: Install dovecot without these optional dependencies, configure it and try to connect to the mail server. It will hang because /usr/lib/dovecot/auth crashes due to missing shared libraries. |
