Details

Description: when booting, during the 'hooks' process, it hangs with an ahci error and drops to ramfs prompt.
I installed arch from a 2009.08 iso and everything ran fine. After a pacman -Syu and getting the latest kernel (kernel26-2.6.35.7-1) , my system will no longer boot. I get an ahci error and it finally says it cannot find root file system device.

Additional info: See attached photos of boot screen errors. I've shown the beginning of the ahci error and the end where it tells it cannot find the root file system. For the meantime, I am running the lts kernel.

* package version(s): kernel26-2.6.35.7-1
* workstation hardware that I suspect may be causing the issue: Intel(R) ICH8R/ICH9R SATA RAID Controller

Steps to reproduce: boot my system with any kernel above kernel26-lts

I had this a while back (on a Dell precision Txxxx ... I forget what at the moment, it's my machine at work). Anyway it was "fixed" by changing my modules line to:

MODULES="ahci ata_generic ata_piix pata_acpi ext3"

in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
