Description:

The X server doesn't start. I found this in the Xorg log file:

[ 17.793] (EE) intel(0): No kernel modesetting driver detected.

Steps to reproduce:

Use one Intel Corporation 82865G Integrated Graphics Controller with the last kernel, xorg-server and intel driver availables on Arch Linux.

You try to put it MODULES="intel_agp i915" on file /etc/mkinitcpio.conf ?

I found the cause: I has been compiling the GMA500 driver on my machine and the psb-firmware and psb-kmod packages (and their modules) were staying on my system.
