Rsync is missing on archi iso image. While booted arch iso allows pretty useful recovery/troubleshooting environment. Rsync wouldn't take much space but will provide another very useful tool Additional info: In my humble opinion rsync with existing ssh/sshd obsoletes rsh/rshd (along with other ancient r* utils/daemons)that are currently present on arch iso boot environment. Steps to reproduce: N/A Stumbled upon this limitation while was trying to relocate my existing arch installation to new laptop using instructions from here http://chris.improbable.org/2006/12/8/unix-quickie-cloning-a-linux-machine-using/ Workaround: Simple copying from existing installation to /usr/bin on booted archiso resolved the problem. |
