Description:

The xorg modules vboxvideo_drv.so and vboxmouse_drv.so fails to load causing (running archlinux in a virtual machine) causing the X server to crash. The xorg log file says that it is dur to a version mistmatch between the modules and the xorg server.

Not completely fixed, it seems. When doing startx, I get

(EE) module ABI major version (7) doesn't match the server's version (8)
(EE) Failed to load module "vboxvideo" (module requirement mismatch, 0)
(EE) No drivers available.

I have had the same problem. The solution was to install virtualbox-ose-additions IN THE GUEST and load the modules, especially vboxvideo.

@Vesa i can't help you if you used the guest additions from the iso and installed the addition in the way is described in their manual.
