Description:
Sometimes it's useful to be able to access a memory card during bootup. Some built-in card readers are not usb based and need additional modules.

I've used "usb" hook as base, adapted it for memory cards, and added an udev rule for loading modules. It does it's job, at least for me. I've created a package named "mkinitcpio-mmc" and it's in AUR. I'll be pleased if it goes into mkinitcpio.

Thomas i have a mmc hook for archboot already, probably worth looking at it.

What do you need the udev rule for? The install file should be enough for everything.

Also, by-label and by-uuid links work fine with MMCs.

Well, now that you asked, I realised that I don't need it. I made this hook some time ago, when my card reader needed ricoh_mmc module, IIRC. Back then, I needed udev rules to load it for me, otherwise it didn't work. When it started to work with sdhci, I just removed unnecessary lines from rules file without even checking whether it was still necessary.

I've just updated aur package, so there's only the install file in it.

Closing this one? I think it's not a bug.

Sure, this is just a feature request, as indicated in the report. As for the "feature", I use it regardless, just thought it may be of use to some people other than me. If it's not already on its way.

I was still going to add this hook, whenever I get to look at mkinitcpio again.
