I have a "00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)" and want to use libva.

Packages:

extra/libdrm 2.4.21-2
extra/libva 1.0.4-1
extra/xf86-video-intel 2.12.0-1

$ vainfo
libva: libva version 0.31.1
libva: va_getDriverName() returns 0
libva: Trying to open /usr/lib/dri/i965_drv_video.so
libva error: /usr/lib/dri/i965_drv_video.so init failed
libva: va_openDriver() returns -1
vaInitialize failed with error code -1 (unknown libva error),exit

Tried to do "ln -s /usr/lib/dri/i965_drv_video.so /usr/lib/va/drivers/", but with no result.

Reason for closing:  Not a bug
Additional comments about closing:  works fine on my G45. According to http://intellinuxgraphics.org/documentat ion.html you need G45 or later.

The i965 doesn't support VA-API, only G45 and later support it.
