Description:

qt 4.7.0-2 (in testing) crashes k3b when Settings dialog is invoked

Additional info:
* package version(s)
- qt 4.7.0-2 (from testing)
- k3b 2.0.1-2 (from extra)
- latest packages from extra:
----> KDE 4.5.1 (3D KWin compositing enabled)
----> qtcurve-kde4 theme (with default options)
----> nvidia + nvidia-utils

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open k3b
2. Goto Settings -> Configure k3b...

The dialog will never be displayed and k3b's main window will disappear, as k3b has just crashed.

everything works here. please remove any ~/.kde4/share/{apps,config}/k3b* files and try again.

I had removed my whole ~/.kde4 directory a few weeks ago when KDE 4.5.1 went into extra.

Confirmed here. Fails under an empty user. The only package from [testing] is qt. Also fails under twm. (nvidia - x86_64)

This could be related to the graphics card; you are using both a nvidia card, I am using an Intel card.

please test this package built with qt 4.7:

Even with the rebuilt on top of qt 4.7 k3b package fails again.

I also tried it after removing any ~/.kde4/share/{apps,config}/k3b* files as you suggested.

The same behavior.

Yes the behavior is exactly as described in the kde-org bug that arojas mentions.

There is no KDE crash window displayed.

Just built a new pkgrel with the patch arojas mentioned (comment 29).

Now works flawlessly under qt 4.7.

I even went through all Settings Window options/elements/tabs to "stress" it. No problems.

I attach proposed patch and PKGBUILD.
