grass depends on xorg-server. In virtual environments (for example coLinux with the Cygwin X-server, which is my case), there is no need to have xorg installed. Currently grass has to be upgraded separately with --nodeps to avoid this which is not exactly ideal. Ya, you're right, I've run grass over ssh before :D anyways, I'll change this whenever I get the time.
