Description:

When trying to find shared printers on the local network (where a CUPS server is running on a debian machine), CUPS client can't find anything automatically (manually adding the printer DOES work by providing ipp://**** address).

What is very interesting is I'm pretty sure the problem does not come from the CUPS server configuration, as another laptop that is running Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE) has been able to automatically discover the printer without configuring anything.

Fortunately, the CUPS version in Archlinux and LMDE are the same, so I did copy some configuration files from LMDE to Archlinux that seem to be relevant : snmp.conf and cupsd.conf ....but it is still not working...

So the problem must be somewhere else (might be related to dnssd ?)

Additional info:

* cups 1.4.4-3
* i've attached cupsd.conf and snmp.conf (that are used on LMDE)

Steps to reproduce:

* Configure a CUPS server on the local network
* On an Arch Linux client, enable "show printers shared by other systems"
This task depends upon

Seems to be fixed since :
[2010-10-04 14:47] upgraded avahi (0.6.27-2 -> 0.6.27-5)
[2010-10-08 20:41] installed lib32-libcups (1.4.4-5)
or maybe some other packages I don't know..
