Description:
I'm an awesome user and i wanted to start using the testing repo, and i had to build cairo-xcb from aur. Here's a video of that "bug": http://ompldr.org/vNW1wcw/out-1.ogv

Additional info:
cairo-xcb 1.10.0-2
awesome 3.4.6-1 (i tested also with 3.4.7, the same)
xcompmgr-git 20100923-1

Steps to reproduce:
use awesome wm, cairo-xcb and xcompmgr-git from aur, and try to access the main menu (modkey + w default)

xduugu - I'm using cairo-xcb from aur, not cairo from extra. I mention this already.

Oops, your description misled me, sorry. But I can reproduce it using xcompmgr from extra. I guess it was fine with cairo 1.8 or why do you think it's a cairo bug?

Can you reproduce this with other window managers and cairo 1.10 from testing?

I'm also an awesome user, and awesome cannot start nor compile with cairo-1.10.0-2 from extra. With 1.8, it works perfectly

There is a report in awesome's bugtracker[1] that seems to describe this exact issue. According to it, it is not related to cairo at all.
