If you want to use xmaxima that comes with maxima, you need tk.

yes, but tk needs x-server ... and this deps-chain i don't want to have, as there are users, that only need maxima in the console

maybe an info after install is enough?

what do you think?

I think that's a good idea. I had problems using starting xmaxima and I had to do a bit of searching on the Internet before I figured out that I needed tk. I thought others might have the same problem too. Info after install would definitely help.
