what I do: install Wombat base group and xorg package, then run xorgconfig to generate /etc/X11/xorg.conf

what happened: when run startx, the box freeze, the screen is black, can't identify text/graphic mode, the KB/mouse no response, only way is reset.

what I had try: xorg 6.7.0-1/6.8.0-3, all like this. but the xfree86-4.4.0-4 is OK.

about my box: Authon XP 1600+, 512M Ram, GeForce2 Mx 200 graphic card, Seagate 7200.7 120G+160G

something else: Slackware 9.0/9.1/10.0 is ok in this box.

I think this is a bug, not my prior VPC fault.

I alway forgot something...:^)

I had try 2.4.29 kernel, it freeze also. at last I guess maybe something bad with NPTL, then rename the /lib/tls to /lib/tlss, the bad thing is like previous.

My box wat RESET 10+ time last night :'(

Hi - Did you found something interesting within your /var/log/Xorg.log (or XFree86.log) ?
Which settings you used with xorgconfig ?
Comment by Beld Zhang (beld) - Friday, 28 January 2005, 13:45 GMT
I forget this and do it just now. and ...

The log file tould me "No core point", then I change the /dev/mouse to /dev/psaux in /etc/X11/xorg.conf, then it's ok.

so my problem is something like
http://bugs.archlinux.org/index.php?do=details&id=1437
but he's was "Crash on return from VT", mine is "crash on return to console"

sorry for my negligence and thanks to Roland Berger. please close this "bug" also.
