Could you please post (or link to) exactly what patch is missing? I found a number of results with Google and I don't know which one you are talking about.

Here is patch-avr-size (and few more) I am talking about. http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/devel/avr-binutils/

Here is list of patches included in debian unstable packege: binutils-avr (2.20.1-1)
Meybe (I think so) it's good idea to include them all but I don't known what each one of them do exactly.

patch-avr-size
patch-coff-avr
patch-newsections
patch-as-dwarf
patch-as-dwarf-avrstudio
patch-xmega
patch-newdevices

I believe this is the one you are looking for:
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/devel/avr-binutils/files/patch-avr-size

I'll get to work. Let's hope these don't have anything "BSD-specific" in them. I have a sick feeling that they do.

I dont think that should be problem. These patches were initially made for winavr (great windows IDE for programming AVR's).
Like I said they are included to debian, ubuntu and other distros.

Uploaded the new package and it should hit the repos soon. I tested it on both of my machines and it worked fine.

If you can also confirm that it is working, then I guess this bug can be closed. :-)
