DetailsDescription: the preferred archive format used by XArchiver is not correctly taken from the format list, set in preferences, but the one above/previous in the list. For example, the following formats exist in my list in this order:
... - tar.bz2 - tar.gz - tar.lzma ... To use 'tar.gz' as the default format, I have to choose 'tar.lzma' in menu -> Action -> Preferences -> Archive -> Preferred archive format. --- I tested this only on Arch x86_64. Additional info: * package version: 0.5.2-1 * config file (~/.config/xarchiver/xarchiverrc) - attached here * the following formats are available in the interface: arj, bz2, gz, lzma, lzo, tar, tar.bz2, tar.gz, tar.lzma, tar.lzo, jar, zip, 7z. * apparently the rar format, although installed in the system, is detected but doesn't appear in the list for compression formats, possibly because it can't be used to compress (only the unrar package is installed for this format). The options work as expected from the first item (arj) up to lzo, then choosing tar will actually use rar instead (appearing in the file save dialog), although the compression will fail. Steps to reproduce: - install the above formats + unrar; - choose a preferred format from 'tar' above, from the preferences; - either use the file manager plugin to compress a file or, from the XArchiver GUI, create a new archive. |

Reason for closing: Upstream
Additional comments about closing: xarchiver seems unmaintained upstream. no chance to get this fixed if you won't a fix your own.
