Yesterday, a couple of days after recent xorg 1.9 update, KMS causes my ATI system to kernel-panic on boot. Disabling KMS using radeon.modeset=0 from the kernel line brings the system up fine. Additional info: * fully updated [testing] * fully updated [multilib] Steps to reproduce: - use ATI card with radeon module - follow wiki for early modesetting - kernel panics at module loading |
