Description:

kmix (from KDE4.5) is using too much cpu (~15%) when using oss4. after downgarding to kmix 4.4.5 everything is back to normal...

installed packages:

kdemultimedia-kmix-4.5.1-1-i686
oss 4.2_2003-1
phonon-xine 4.4.2-1

soundcard:

C-Media Electronics Inc CM8738

Uwe, does kmix just work with your install? I can't get it to work with oss4. How did you configure it?

well, it works in the way that i can control the volume of master, pcm, line, etc., for per-application mixing i have to use ossxmix. i did nothing special to configure kmix.

This happened to me today. I solved it removing ~/.kde4/share/{apps,config}/kmix*
