Details

The default behaviour of pacman (packaged in pacman-3.4.0-2) is to force kernel26-headers to be updated first, before any other updates proceed. This ensures headers will be available for any external modules which will need to be recompiled.

As kernel26-lts is a "blessed" kernel which is shipped as a standard part of Arch, I believe that for consistency its header package should also be added to the default SyncFirst list.

Huh, you're right. I think an AUR package did it for me actually; I'll have to track down the package and flame the maintainer.
