Given that PS/2 protocol mice are most common these days, I believe the default gpm args should be:

GPM_ARGS="-m /dev/input/mice -t ps2"

Without the "-t ps2", my (laptop built-in) PS/2 mouse does not work.

Does adding "-t imps2" to the config works? I've added "-t imps2" to the config in the svn trunk a while ago ( FS#19657 ) but haven't release any package yet.

Yes, that works as well, as does -t exps2.

(imps2 seems to have the most elaborate initialization function in gpm code)

My mouse doesn't have a wheel, though.
