The current release of the compcache userspace tools is incompatible with the compcache module in 2.6.35. The current hg tip of compcache is a wholly different code with a new kernel module (zram). Because the module can't be controlled anymore, it is effectively useless. I think we should remove the module from the kernel and ship the new zram module with the next compcache release. If we remove the module now, compcache will be unavailable until the zram release. To avoid that, we could revert the in-kernel module to the state of 2.6.34. This would allow the current userspace tools to work. |

The released userspace tools are incompatible, while the zram development version has moved to a sysfs interface that doesn't need userspace helpers.
