Details

At least two changes have taken place with these mozilla upgrades:
mozilla-1.7.5-1.pkg.tar.gz
mozilla-common-1.0-2.pkg.tar.gz
mozilla-firefox-1.0-2.pkg.tar.gz
mozilla-thunderbird-1.0-1.pkg.tar.gz

First, they firefox and thunderbird are now being installed under

/opt/mozilla

while they had their separate directories in the previous packages.

Second, the symbolic links to the executables are not being created in:

/usr/bin/

JGC has been working on more integrated mozilla packages. 0.7 will have one mozilla directory for mozilla, mozilla-firefox, and mozilla-thunderbird.

You need to re-login to add /opt/mozilla/bin to your path. After logging in again, /opt/mozilla is just another somewhat bigger project like KDE and Gnome that do the same with your profile.
The launcher icons are placed in /usr because KDE doesn't do nice things with icon lookups in XDG_DATA_DIRS.
