Description: Any application that attempts to use the JESS and G-force plugins will crash. This occurs for me on both rhythmbox and totem. Even worse, it will crash on rhythmbox before you can change the preset, so the only fix is to dig into gconf (apps/rhythmbox/plugins/visualization)

this gentoo bug has more information on the topic and patches for 64 bit: http://bugs.gentoo.org/159159

the patch to fix JESS is supposed to be quite stable. g-force is a little more broken so the patch is labeled WIP

if the patches aren't applied; i feel that these plugins should be taken out of this package if they don't work at all to avoid application crashes.

Steps to reproduce:
Play a song in rhythmbox.
Enable visualization
Set plugin to JESS or G-force

Has this been reported upstream? This Gentoo bug report with the patches is from 2007..
