Details

Description:
texlive-core contains MetaUML library under directory:
/usr/share/texmf-dist/metapost/metauml
However, there are some files missing comparing to latest MetaUML library release (0.2.5), e.g. metauml_component.mp. Therefore there is no possibility to produce Component diagrams using the library provided in texlive-core package.

Additional info:
For version 0.2.5 of MetaUML library sources see attachement.
Copying missing files does not remove the problem, as the files provided in the package are also different. Only after overwritting all files in /usr/share/texmf-dist/metapost/metauml problem is removed.

Note that as a strict policy, the texlive-* packages provide exactly what the upstream TeX Live distro is packaging. And TeX Live is always in sync with CTAN: I see that metauml on CTAN is still at v0.2.3 from 2005: http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/graphics/metapost/contrib/macros/metauml/

What you should do is this: please contact the maintainers of http://metauml.sourceforge.net and kindly ask them to upload the latest version to CTAN. Then within a few days it should become available in TeX Live.

>> EDIT: I just wrote to the metauml developer about this.<<

Note also that I don't update texlive subpackages on an individual basis (and never will, as it would be a full-time job!). If you desperately need something more up-to-date than what is in the texlive pkg, then install it manually under $HOME/texmf.

And please (quoting from above on this page): "Do NOT report bugs when a package is just outdated" ;)
