boost is now nicely split, so it would be good if supertux only depended on boost-libs.

Only package building depends on boost (not only boost-libs). It is not needed at runtime. See  FS#20208  for fixed PKGBUILD.

Are you sure boost-libs is not needed. It is very strange for something to makedepend on boost and then not depend on boost-libs.

Just header files (shared_ptr.hpp and weak_ptr.hpp) from boost are needed for compilation. There are no libraries linked in. So it is just a makedepend and boost is not needed at runtime.
