What package owns those files (pacman -Qo)
Comment by cdw (clcto) - Tuesday, 20 July 2010, 13:42 GMT
IIRC, no package owned them. However linux-firmware owned packages in /lib/firmware/bnx2*. I will double check when I get back on my system, but i believe this is correct.

Afterwards, i did a pacman -S linux-firmware and got the same error, that is why I know it is linux-firmware's 'fault'

% pacman -Qo /lib/firmware/bnx2/bnx2-mips-06-5.0.0.j6.fw
error: No package owns /lib/firmware/bnx2/bnx2-mips-06-5.0.0.j6.fw

% pacman -Qo /lib/firmware/bnx2x-e1-4.8.53.0.fw
/lib/firmware/bnx2x-e1-4.8.53.0.fw is owned by linux-firmware 20100606-1

Comment by cdw (clcto) - Thursday, 05 August 2010, 18:10 GMT
i will try tonight. i think there is a new linux kernel as well, so that may help.

yes it is still a problem. I just tried to do an Syu and got the same error.
Comment by Ionut Biru (wonder) - Thursday, 05 August 2010, 22:30 GMT
so do pacman -Qo /path/to/conflict/files on every single ones and paste the result
